Heidelberg sells its Belgian production site for printing chemicals to DC Druck Chemie GmbH

As part of its planned focus on core activities and portfolio adjustments, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) has sold its Belgian production site for printing chemicals to DC Druck Chemie GmbH (Druck Chemie), a subsidiary of Langley Holdings PLC, UK.

Mark Andy launches Evolution E3 flexo press

Mark Andy has announced a new narrow web flexo press, the Evolution E3, which builds on the Evolution Series flexo press that was first shown at Labelexpo Europe in 2019. Evolution series E3 press is an entry level servo-driven flexo press for the label market. That first series is now being renamed the Evolution E5 to make room for the new E3 version, which is essentially a lower cost entry level machine. However, there’s no upgrade path between the E3 and E5 versions. Mark Andy sees the E3 as a fixed solution that’s marketed toward converters that want to update older mechanical equipment to a full servo press that will be used just for prime labels.

Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) aims to further strengthen its leading competitive position in the growth market of China and has therefore set up a production joint venture with its long-standing partner and strategic anchor shareholder Masterwork Group Co., Ltd. (Masterwork). Heidelberg will benefit from the closer cooperation in the value-added chain between the two companies, particularly at its production site near Shanghai. KAMA launches AutoBraille

German-based machine manufacturer KAMA is launching a highly efficient inline solution for the application of Braille. The newly developed AutoBraille for the FF 52i fully automatic folder-gluer offers minimum makeready times, reproducibility, and easy handling for the operator - ideal for the production of folding cartons for the pharmaceutical market, which must be marked with Braille in Europe.

ICE Europe, CCE International and InPrint Munich 2021 postponed

Mack-Brooks Exhibitions has today announced the postponement of ICE Europe, CCE International and InPrint Munich 2021, which were scheduled to take place at the Munich Trade Fair Centre in Germany from 9 to 11 March 2021. Instead, the collective of converting, paper and print exhibitions will run from 22 – 24 June 2021. This decision was taken in light of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and continued uncertainties regarding travel restrictions and event planning by the authorities.

FachPack to take place in 2021

FACHPACK, the trade fair for packaging, processes and technologies, will take place in line with its regular schedule from 28 to 30 September 2021. The odds are good that it will opens its doors at Exhibition Centre Nuremberg as an on-site event. The experience of 2020 has shown that Covid-19 case numbers are lower in summer. And hope is growing that by that time, vaccination strategies will be starting to have an impact. The organisers have already ensured that will be enough space by adding another two exhibition halls. A hygiene plan is also in place, so that our customers can feel safe travelling to Nuremberg and doing business face-to-face. The allocation of stands for FACHPACK 2021 will begin in January.

Durst launches the new P5 350 High Speed printing system

Durst, manufacturer of advanced digital printing and production technologies, has unveiled a raft of innovations as it continues its journey to become a complete solutions provider in line with its “Pixel to Output” strategy. The doors to FESPA Global Print Expo and European Sign Expo 2021, Europe’s leading exhibitions for speciality print and signage, will open in just a few days (12 – 15 October 2021 at the RAI, Amsterdam, The Netherlands).
